MASAS Service Module (MSM) Setup

The MSM has been designed to run directly on the SharePoint server.

Installation

An installation package has been provided for the MSM. To install, simply run the MASAS Service Module for SharePoint

Start the MSM

The MASAS Service can be run as either a Windows Service, a Console application, or with a simple UI. The Service is installed as a Windows Service by default but it is not started.

Run as a Windows Service

The MSM is by default installed as a Windows Service. The install, however, does not have the appropriate credentials set nor is the Service started. These to items will need to be addressed before the Service can be properly used.

IMPORTANT: The credentials will need to be a User account with appropriate access to the SharePoint server (read/write access to every site you wish to setup). The user account will need to be entered as follows: MachineName\UserName.

Run the MSM as a console application

From the command line, run:
"C:\Program Files\MASAS\MSM\msmService.exe" console

IMPORTANT: The console application requires the appropriate credentials to access the SharePoint server (read/write access to every site you wish to setup).

Run the MSM with a simple user interface

From the command line, run:
"C:\Program Files\MASAS\MSM\msmUI.exe"

IMPORTANT: The console application requires the appropriate credentials to access the SharePoint server (read/write access to every site you wish to setup).

Error Logs

Error logs are generated by the MSM. Exceptions and Errors will always be logged in the Windows Application Event logs. The logs can also be found in the program data folder (C:\ProgramData\MASAS\MasasService).
